it’s a bit easier on the other side of the atlantic. in the UK $1500 gets you a perfectly acceptable miata, or e36.

Too bad that’s not the same here. I’m doing belts and water pump on my car (‘98 sentra gxe with a ga16de and 5-speed manual) Transverse engines can go die. I hate them so much.

oh man I had a VW Polo that needed its belts changing and the timing belt cover was like half an inch from the chassis leg, I was like “hah, nope” and got someone else to do it. Now I have RWD it’s much easier.

Exactly. I almost want to pull the engine to do it. Such a pain. After 6~8 hours of work, I finally got it off. Now the struggle begins to put it back together.
